  • The Cleaning Methods of Spinneret
  • To clean spinnerets, you may choose one of the following methods which we recommend:
  • 1.Calcination:
  •   In automatic box-type furnace, the spinnerets are heated to 450-480°C. When the temperature is over 480°C,a superheated steam pass the calcinatory, blow out the flames and lower it to prevent the spinnerets from being damaged.
  • 2.Salt Bath:
  •   The salt bath is composed of the mixture of NaNO3(45%)-NaNO2(45%)-NaOH(10%) and its melting-point 200°C. At 450-500°C of operating temperature, it has strong oxidant and can decompose the polymer into CO2 and H2O very quickly about 60 to 90 minitues. After processed, the oxide film must be removed by thin nitric acid and the remaining salts on spinnerets could be also washed out by hot water. Then it should be still washed continuously in clean water, ultrasonic tank and dried.
  • 3.Procedyne Fluid Bed:
  •   At temperature of 450-500°C,aluminum oxide powders carried by hot air flue scour, strip and decompose the polymer on the spinnerets. About 70% polymer is detached and decomposed and also has a little of granule of carbon. All these including inorganic substances, such as TiO2, are discharged in the air. The advantages of this method are that the spinneret can be cleaned automatically.
  • 4.TEG:
  •   First put spinnerets in boiling solution which contains NaOH(15%-20%) about 2 to 3 hours to remove most of the polymer, and then in TEG bath at 260-280°C about 12 hours. After cooled, the spinnerets should be still washed continuously in alkaline solution, water and ultrasonic tank before they could be dried and stored up. The advantages of this process could avoid overheat and be suitable for any type of stainless steel spinnerets, but also need rather long time.
  • 5.Vacuum Calciner:
  •   Burning in low pressure and vacuum, most of the polymer could be decomposed. The remaining parts are washed out by water in the same furnace. The whole process could be automatically controlled and easily operated.
